How to spend the perfect day in Cape Town (or, my idea of the perfect day in the Mother City)

Are you wondering about top Cape Town experiences? Perhaps you want to know what the best restaurants or places to chill in Cape Town are? It’s true – there are a host of things do in the Mother City and the Western Cape. But today, I’ve put together what my perfect day would look like. Come along!

Morning

Start with a scrumptious breakfast at Primi. The Primi menu is truly special. Choose from breakfast bowls to omelettes and affordable breakfast extras you’ll love. You can go to any one! Personally, I’d start my day at Primi Table View for those amazing views.

Early afternoon

Next up, the City Sightseeing Hop-on-Hop-Off open bus tour.

Discover the different Cape Town Routes. Me, I’d pick the Blue City Tour. Here are the stops:
V&A Waterfont
Foreshore
81 Long Street
Mount Nelson Hotel
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
Constantia Nek (Wine Bus Tour CHANGE POINT)
World of Birds Park in Hout Bay
Imizamo Yethu Township (walking tour)
Mariner’s Wharf at Hout Bay Harbor
Camps Bay Beachfront
President Hotel
St John’s Road
Winchester Mansions Hotel
Green Point Lighthouse

I love that this tour gives me the option to change to the Purple Wine Tour at Constantia Neck.
I can personally tell you that Beau Constantia has the most equisite views and wine.
You can even grab a bite to eat here, if you want to.

Late afternoon / Early evening

I just love the theatre. So would love to squeeze in an early show at either The Fugard or The Baxter. Whether it’s something nostalgic like District Six Kanala or a top international musical like West Side Story. Just take me to the theatre!

Night time

End off with some dinner and dancing in vibey Green Point. I’ve spent some of the best nights out at Pigalle, the finest Cape town restaurant in my opinion. Their jazzy live performances are world-class
and their food is simply the best. Try the lamb shank, if you dare!
